WORKFORCE ACTIVITY REPORT

Measuring U.S. economic growth with high-frequency data

We’re taking a closer look at our labor index data, including employee shift work, from over 4.5 million employees across 40,000 U.S. businesses. Each month we compile a Workforce Activity Report to better understand the rapidly evolving employment outlook to help business leaders, labor economists, and other groups make better-informed decisions to improve the job market.

UKG Workforce Activity Report - August 2024

Workforce activity declined for the second consecutive month, decreasing -1.8% in August. This follows a -0.8% decline in July. As the labor market inches closer to full employment, coupled with people taking time-off for summer, the conditions needed to create and fill new jobs were challenging.
