SHRM Recertification Credits for HR
SHRM certified professionals (SRHM-CP) and SHRM senior certified professionals (SCHRM-SCP) stand out from the crowd as recognized experts within their fields. And in an industry as dynamic as human resources management, learning does not stop after passing the certification exam. New legislation and societal norms continue to affect and alter HR best practices, thus requiring certified professionals to continue their education in order to keep their certification active.
SHRM requires its SHRM-CP and CHRM-SCP credential holders to renew their certification every three years, and there are two ways to do that. The first option is to retake the exam after three years have passed—requiring studying and a long exam. However, many certification holders prefer the second option which allows you to become recertified throughout that three-year period—without having to take an exam. Simply earn 60 professional development credits (PDCs) within those three years
