The HCM Magic Quadrant report evaluates vendors' strengths and weaknesses to identify Market Leaders, Market Challengers, and "niche players." The criteria considered in this evaluation include ability to execute and completeness of vision. The HCM providers that are evaluated must develop, sell, and market either a single integrated solution or multiple distinct products that falls into one or more of the following categories to manage full-time and part-time employees:
- administrative human resources
- HR Service Delivery (HRSD)
- talent management applications
- workforce management
