Year-End Checklist
First and foremost, who doesn’t love a good checklist? Our comprehensive UKG Ready® Year-End checklist is a key tool to review and get a head start on your year-end planning! Now, let's dive into some key tasks below.
Year-End Forms and Filing
Our UKG Ready | Preparing for Year-End page in the UKG Community™, is your one-stop shop for all things year-end. It is highly recommended that you bookmark this page, as you may need quick access to this information in the upcoming months. Follow the steps below to begin the form and filing process:
Review and Configure Settings
- To set up the delivery policies, navigate to Settings > Profiles/Policies > Delivery
- Validate any current settings or add new policies if none are available
- To configure print settings, navigate to Settings > Global Setup > Payroll Services Setup > Services Settings
- For non-Payroll Services customers, navigate to Settings > Global Setup > Company Setup > Payroll Tab

Electronic Consent Settings
- Electronic Consent Settings can be turned on via Settings > Global Setup > Company Setup > Payroll Tab > Printed W2/1099 Options widget. Here, you can customize the message that employees will see when they enroll.
Create EFW2 File
- Configure the marketplace product by adding the missing information, under Our Company > Marketplace > click the Installed tab > select edit on the year-end W2 file generator and enter the missing information.
- After completing the above step, you can now create the EFW2 file via Team > Payroll > Quarter/ Year End Process > EF W2/1099.
Ordering Forms
Customers using UKG Payroll Services who opt for printed forms won't need to order them. For those needing to order forms, please refer to the information below:
- UKG partners with Nelco for forms and envelopes
- UKG Ready supports 8.5” by 11” and self-seal size paper stock (8.5” x 11”) with perforations, Self (Pressure)
Key Deadlines
Get your calendars ready, as these are deadlines you'll want to remember:
- December 5 – UKG Payroll Services Year-End webinar
- December 30 – Last day to submit payroll for non-late tax payments for UKG Payroll Services customers
- December 31 – Last business day of the quarter
- January 6 – UKG Payroll Services quarter-end deadline
- January 17 – Tax Package becomes available for UKG Payroll Service customers
- January 31 – W-2 deadline
